Welcome all to the 2016 Chojun Miyagi Cup Tournament.

The Chojun Miyagi Cup is a sport karate tournament that has been held for ten years in the greater Miami area with great success. The competition is held annually, bringing local and international competitors from the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, and even special guests from Japan. The staff’s main focus during the event is providing a positive experience for all competitors and build friendships to last a lifetime.. To this end, our great coordination and organization has proven to be the most contributing factor for a successful event. We hope to bridge the continents and showcase the skills of our youth through competition. We want to support athletes with special needs and exhibit their many achievements. In addition, we hope to support our local athletes in their goal to qualify for the national team and represent our country and their community internationally.

This event’s focus is to display the many benefits karate has on autistic children and those with special needs. At mid-day there will be a special demonstration by children with great exceptionalities from the Kia Kidz Martial Arts Center, along with a exhibit from Evolution of Kobudo. This year’s competition will host a myriad of guests, most prominent among them is Kyoshi Seiei Hirata, 8th Dan OGKK and JKF Gojukai from Okinawa, Japan, Kyoshi Cleveland Baxter, WKF Referee, and Sensei Julius Parniczky, WKF Referee.
